The UCLA Schoolhouse of the Arts and Compages (UCLA Arts) is defended to training exceptional artists, performers, architects and scholars who are enriched past a global view of the arts and prepared to serve as cultural leaders of the 21st century. The Hammer Museum presents fine art ranging from Impressionism to Contemporary and the Fowler Museum at UCLA features material culture and art from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. UCLA Compages and Urban Design is a champion of ideas and their clear expression. Our exceptional faculty teach students to engage the earth around them, to see ideas as productive forms of response, and to leverage design and writing as expressions of newly curated perspectives. These ideas are grounded in a disquisitional engagement with the history and theory of architecture and the future contingencies of gimmicky culture. Through rigorous inquiry, we interrogate contemporary urban issues and propose possible futures with equal measures of expertise, optimism, and vision.

Our vision is to champion and expand the influence of architecture in society. We don't only train architects and urban designers; nosotros train educators, scholars, curators, and artists. Our students produce compelling projects and impact culture broadly across the intersecting vectors of blueprint, media, engineering and urbanism. Our IDEAS campus is an incubator for collaborative, cross-disciplinary pattern research. Programs

We offer four distinct graduate degrees, two professional and two academic. The Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) is a three-year, NAAB accredited plan that prepares students for professional practice. M.Curvation. students may also pursue a concurrent degree in Urban Planning (M.Arch. / Yard.U.R.P.). The one-year Master of Scientific discipline in Compages and Urban Pattern(M.S.AUD) is a post-professional caste that combines theory and practical applications in collaboration with industry partners. Thousand.Southward.AUD students concur a profession v-year undergraduate caste in architecture or the foreign equivalent. Bookish degrees include the two-yr Principal of Arts (Yard.A.), which prepares students for research and teaching in fields related to compages and urban design. The Medico of Philosophy (Ph.D) is an advanced research degree organized around current scholarly debates. The length of time for completion averages six years.
